who we are

Our Mission

User 2.0

We all know user attention is at an all time low. What may be less obvious is how user tolerance for poor design has changed. When we have a bad experience online, we no longer blame ourselves. We no longer think we might need to read a manual or get training. We get mad. We bail. We tell our friends. Enter User 2.0, or if you prefer, Person 1.0.

We're dedicated to helping organizations of all types understand and exceed the expectations of new new "user".

Our Clients

Over the last 10 years we have completed over 500 successful projects for some of the world's most innovative organizations, including:

  • 18 of the Fortune 100,
  • 16 of the largest 20 banks,
  • Nine of top 10 insurance companies,
  • 11 of the top 15 retirement and investing companies,
  • Two of the top five entertainment companies,
  • Four government agencies.

We also work with startups at all stages of development. ShopWiki, Audible.com and eMusic were clients when they were startups.

Our Services

Most of the work we do takes the form of four services:

Sometimes this involves cutting-edge techniques like eye-tracking, and behavior-based quantitative surveys. But every project we do involves developing sensible approaches to research and sometimes visual translation of findings into design solutions.

Kantuit UX Compare™

Early on it became clear that competitive benchmarking was critical to a number of industries. Some industries, where products were less differentiated and defection rates high (such as financial services), required detailed ways to compare web designs. User experience, we reasoned, was a key differentiator and detailed performance tracking was critical.

The problem was that there wasn't a meaningful way to compare how users experience web sites. Seven years later our Kantuit UX Compare technology and process has become the industry standard for identifying and tracking UX design best practices.
