Change Sciences was founded 11 years ago by two people who are passionate about making interactive technology more human. Both have strong academic backgrounds and both were involved with digital technologies before the the World Wide Web.
Pamela Pavliscak
Pamela leads our usability practice and has spent thousands of hours in the field interviewing people about their use of interactive technology. She has led hundreds of research and strategy projects for clients in the entertainment, publishing, banking, insurance, government, and non-profit communities.
Pamela is a frequent speaker at industry events and is often quoted in the media on the future of digital media.
Prior to co-founding Change Sciences in January of 2000, Pamela led the New York Public Library's early efforts to digitize its rare holdings and bring them online.
Pamela holds an MS in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Michigan's School of Information. Pamela's other academic achievements include a full academic scholarship to the University of Michigan's Residential College, where she earned a bachelor's degree in Russian.
Steve Ellis
Steve leads our competitive benchmarking practice and led the development of our interactive experience modeling software. Like Pam, he has led hundreds of research and strategy projects for clients in the insurance, banking, publishing, government, and non-profit communities.
Steve is often quoted in the media on issues related to the future of digital media and is a frequent speaker at industry events.
Prior to co-founding Change Sciences, Steve worked as an academic exploring the impact of digital technology on writing, reading, and other aspects of the humanities. In 1995 he was hired as a faculty member at Penn State University, where he established a research center for electronic text and the humanities.
Steve holds a bachelors degree in Classics from New York University and a master's degree from the Rutgers School of Communication and Information.
